SALISBURY, MD---It’s a faculty art free-for-all as members of the art departments at Salisbury University and Montgomery College exchange works for two exhibits this fall.
The Salisbury University exhibit, featuring works by Montgomery College faculty is August 28-September 28 in the University Gallery of Fulton Hall. Curated by SU art faculty Jinchul Kim, the exhibit includes reception 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 7, with a concert by SU music faculty.
Works by SU faculty including Kim, Alison Chism, Brooke Rogers, Carl Goldhagen, Clytie Taylor, Dean Peterson, Rick Schneider, Edward Brown, Gary Brotman, Jeanne Anderton, Jim Hill, Marie Cavallaro, Marjorie Hill, Pamela Olszewski, Paul Flexner, Sally Molenda, Susan Holts, Jess Cross, Preston Poe and Nicki Schneider, are shown at the Sarah Silberman Gallery on Montgomery College’s Rockville campus October 3-31. A reception is 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 5.
“We thought having an exchange like this would bring more awareness for both schools,” said Kim. “Cultural exchanges are always a good thing.”
The exhibits also allow students at Montgomery College—which features a two-year art program—to see what SU’s faculty have to offer in case they are considering pursuing a four-year degree at Salisbury after graduating from Montgomery, he said.
Both exhibits are free and the public is invited. Gallery hours at SU are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. The gallery is closed Mondays and holidays. For more information call 410-548-2547 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
