National Council of Negro Women Hosts Women's Summit April 8

NCNWSALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University chapter of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) hosts its first Women’s Summit noon-3 p.m. Sunday, April 8, in the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons Assembly Hall.

The theme is “Women.”

“We understand women within society have been labeled and exiled to live in essentially one-dimensional roles,” said Nyasha Wills, SU NCNW president. “Through this summit, we want to give women the opportunity to embrace all the potential they have without the societal restrictions or expectations.”

Presenters include Tori Soudan, owner of the Baltimore-based Tori Sudan Collection luxury shoe line; Dr. Brandye Nobling, assistant professor and program director of health education and community health in SU’s Health and Sport Science Department; Crystal Dickerson, employee relations manager at SU’s Career Services Office; Naryah Miles, past president of the Salisbury NCNW chapter; Penelope Martin-Knox, community superintendent for Baltimore County Public Schools; and Mone’t Horton, visionary and chief inspiration officer at Mo’s Enterprise, LLC, which includes coaching and consulting solutions, a women’s empowerment network and a fashion line.

Each discusses her passions, influences, role models and advice for attendees. Workshops supplement their presentations.

Admission is $5, $3 for SU students. Advance tickets are available online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/womens-summit-tickets-43728402830. Refreshments will be served.
