Rodig Places First at Intercollegiate Chemists' Convention

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University senior Michael Rodig, son of Charles and Paula Rodig of Westminster, MD, won first place in Organic Chemistry Session I at the Intercollegiate Student Chemists’ Convention held recently in Frederick, MD. His presentation on “Synthesis of Water Soluble Tris (pyrazolyl) methane Ligands” discussed research performed in Dr. Elizabeth Papish’s Chemistry 410 class. Other competitors represented the University of Delaware, Frostburg State University, Muhlenburg College, and Ursinus College. AT SU, Rodig is president of the Chemistry Society. The chemistry major is a 1999 graduate of Westminster High School.
