SGA Hosts Respect Day Wednesday, December 2
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Student Government Association is asking for a little respect from the campus.
Respect Day, part of a week-long “There is No ‘S’ Without ‘U’” civility initiative, in response to national incidents that have drawn attention to problems such as intolerance and cyber bullying, is Thursday, December 2 (rescheduled from Wednesday, December 1, due to weather). From 2-5 p.m. in Red Square, the SGA sponsors food, music and games.
Members provide information about SU’s Saferide bus service, reminding students that it is a privilege, not a right. The SGA also champions a “Pay It Forward” campaign, offering compliments to students and encouraging them to compliment others throughout the day.
Other activities during the week include free hugs in Red Square, “compliment crowns” for those demonstrating civility and a sign and sidewalk chalk campaign.
