SU 'Celebration of Great Composers' Features Mozart Apr. 3
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Music, Theatre and Dance Department hosts its 10th annual “Celebration of Great Composers” piano recital at 1 and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
Founded by music faculty Luba Paskova in 2006, the series originated as a way to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth and has featured additional composers since. This year, the event returns to its roots, focusing on the 260th anniversary of the composer’s birth. The celebration features lectures and recitals.
Performers include beginner to advanced piano students from elementary to high school. Instructors are Barbara Arya, Donna Adler, Susan Boone, Camelia Lasley, Carole Lohmann and Luba Paskova.
Selections include Sonata No. 14 in C minor, Rondo No. 1 in D major and Alla Turca. Guest harpist and narrator Kara Dahl Russell performs Viennese Sonatina No. 1.
