SU Faculty, Students Present 'Experiences of Study Abroad in India' October 13

SALISBURY, MD---In a global society, the United States can learn a lot from Indian culture—at least Drs. Andrew Sharma and Edward Robeck of Salisbury University did.

Sharma, of the Communication Arts Department, recently led a group of students to India on a study abroad program in media. Robeck, of the Teacher Education Department, accompanied them to begin laying a foundation for a similar program in education. They speak on the trip from their viewpoints during the presentation “Experiences of Study Abroad in India” 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

Joined by student presenters, their talk is part of SU’s fall “India and the Sub-Continent” cultural events series.

“Indian society is richly diverse and still generally harmonious,” said Sharma and Robeck. “While there is poverty visible, there is also great cultural and economic wealth, and great dignity. We can learn from that.”
