SU Presents Course on Alzheimer's April 30

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Psychology Department and Center for Professional Development present the course “Alzheimer’s and Diseases of the Elderly” 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, April 30, in the Montgomery Room of the Commons. Dr. Ronald Killiany, a research associate at the Harvard School of Medicine, conducts the course. Dr. Killiany is also a Massachusetts-based psychologist and healthcare provider, assistant professor at the Boston University School of Medicine and instructor at Northeastern University. He is an ad-hoc reviewer for the editorial boards of several journals including Neuroscience, Neurobiology of Aging and Annals of Neurology, and has researched age-related changes of cognition in health and disease as well as neurobiological consequences of hypertension and age. Topics covered in the course include: History of brain-behavior relationship Neuroanatomy Cognitive functions Neuropsychology of aging and dementia Use of imaging in studies of normal aging and dementia Six continuing education credits are awarded for the course.
