SU Republicans Celebrate Conservative Coming Out Week

SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University College Republicans raise awareness of diversity tolerance on campus during its first Conservative Coming Out Week Monday-Thursday, May 3-6. Featured speakers include Maryland Delegate D. Page Elmore and Wicomico County Councilwoman Gail Bartkovich. Events begin Monday, May 3, with a Brown Bag Lunch Discussion on conservative student experiences from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Nanticoke Room of the Guerrieri University Center. Pizza is served. Elmore, who is also a member of the SU Foundation Board of Directors, speaks on conservatism in state politics 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, in the Nanticoke Room. Dr. Robert Dombrowski continues events 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, in the Nanticoke Room, speaking on his experiences as a conservative faculty member in a liberal setting. Bartkovich concludes the series 7 p.m. Thursday, May 6, in the Nanticoke Room, speaking on conservatism in local government. The public is cordially invited to all events. “Sometimes minority groups can feel they are not being taken seriously or respected, and conservatives are definitely a minority at SU,” said Eric Colvin, past president of the College Republicans.
