SU Respiratory Therapy Instructor Earns CoARC Scholarship
SALISBURY, MD---Thomas Lamey, who teaches in Salisbury University’s respiratory therapy program, was recently awarded the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care’s (CoARC) Louis Sinopoli Faculty Educational Research Scholarship.
The $2,000 annual scholarship is awarded to a faculty member of a CoARC-accredited program for educational or accreditation research that has practical value to the respiratory care profession.
Lamey presents his dissertation research at the American Association for Respiratory Care’s (AARC) 2018 Summer Forum in San Antonio, TX. He investigates instructional strategies to improve rescue inhaler proficiency and self-efficacy among adults enrolled in pulmonary rehabilitation programs. Lamey is a doctoral candidate in the Instructional Design and Development Program at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
CoARC’s Sinopoli scholarship is named for a highly-respected respiratory care educator who was internationally known for pioneering the change to criterion-referenced National Board for Respiratory Care examinations. Dr. Sinopoli passed away unexpectedly in 2014.
