SU Senior Alex Cooper Continues Feature Fridays Series February 24

Alex CooperSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Feature Fridays downtown Salisbury lecture and performance series returns with jazz pianist Alex Cooper on February 24.

All presentations in the series are held at The Brick Room, 116 N. Division St.

The evening begins with a networking session at 5:30 p.m. followed by Cooper’s performance from 6-7 p.m.

Cooper is an SU senior pursuing his B.A. in music with an emphasis on piano performance and pedagogy, and conducting and composition. He is an active performer in the Salisbury and Washington, D.C., metropolitan regions, recently sharing the stage with renowned drummer Donald Edwards.

He also serves as music director of the First Baptist Church of Princess Anne, MD, conducting its choir and coordinating music for Sunday services. He has taught piano privately for six years and currently teaches in SU’s PRESTO preparatory performing arts program. After graduating from Salisbury, he plans to pursue a Master of Music in choral conducting at Penn State University while teaching as a graduate assistant in its music school.

•    March 24 – Blues musician Chris English of SU’s Music, Theatre and Dance Department;

•    April 28 – Guitarist Danielle Cumming of SU’s Music, Theatre and Dance Department with visiting artists-in-residence Martin Friese and Julian Walter-Nußberger; and

•    May 19 – Such Fools featuring Todd Smith, SU webmaster.
