SU Students Host Inaugural Film Festival May 3-4

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University students, alumni and others showcase their productions during the inaugural SU Film Festival.

Screenings begin 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, and noon Sunday, May 4, in Perdue Hall’s Bennett Family Auditorium. Scheduled films include:

• B.A.D. by Joseph Austin II – A young woman suffering from bipolar disorder attempts to regain control of her life.
  
• Eat a Bowl of F$&K by Zak Kneipp – Actor Jim Belushi’s life on film is explored.
  
• Folie Á Deux by Joseph Austin II – This art house film interprets a disorder of madness through which two become one.
  
• For Delivery by Michael Smigiel – A delivery driver who hates his job finds a spark of hope through one of his customers.
  
• Fowl Play by Jake Swinney – A biography of Jimi Haha, leader of the Annapolis-based band Jimmie’s Chicken Shack.
  
• The Guise Effect by Joseph Austin II – This documentary examines portrayals of African Americans throughout the history of film.
  
• Haunt Me Delicately by Jake Swinney – A young man battles moral boundaries in hopes of finding faith.
  
• Leech by Elizabeth Krajewski – A woman is chased through London after illegally downloading a film.
  
• Matches by Molly Likovich – An 18-year-old struggles to make sense of the death of a friend with whom she had fallen out of touch.
  
• Nothing. Nevermind. By Reed DeLisle – A young writer battles isolation while trying to find his place in the world.
  
• Pan: A Documentary by Molly Likovich – Portrayed by Disney as a cheerful character, Peter Pan has a much darker past than most realize.
  
• Sampson Tinkers with a Green Agenda by Ryan Callahan – In this animated educational short, an elementary school student learns the importance of recycling.
  
• The Trail by Z.W. Wheeler – A young man finds himself on a never-ending hike.
  
• The Unspoken Battle: Domestic Violence by Kristen Wolfe – Two domestic violence victims explain how Salisbury’s Life Crisis Center helped save their lives.
  
• Video Killed the Radio Star by Zak Kneipp – This video essay examines the influence of a classic Hollywood icon.
  
• Whale Rider by David Meyer – A man’s actions start a worldwide revolution and change his small town forever.

All screenings are open to the public. Questions-and-answer sessions with directors are scheduled throughout the festival.

Free tickets for SU students are available at the Guerrieri University Center Information Desk. Admission at the door is by donation to support the festival. The public is invited.
