SU Vocal Jazz Ensemble Performs Inaugural Concert March 7
SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Vocal Jazz Ensemble performs its inaugural concert 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7, in Holloway Hall Auditorium, with a guest appearance by the University Chorale.
The 13-member ensemble is conducted by Dr. William Folger, director of choral studies at SU. Philip Thomas and Johnnie Kearse accompany on drums and bass.
The program features jazz classics including “Blue Skies,” “Embraceable You,” “My Funny Valentine,” “Stormy Weather” and “Chili con Carne.” Also featured is George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” performed by student pianist Frankie Withers.
