SU Web ConferencePodcasts Available

SALISBURY, MD---Internet professionals can carry part of Salisbury University around in their pockets thanks to Apple’s iTunes.

The popular online music site offers a free podcast download of portions of SU’s recent Web Strategies and Communications Conference. Even more podcast downloads from the conference also are available through Thomson Peterson’s, the nation’s leading college admissions services provider.

Podcasts allow subscribers to download music and information audio files onto computers and MP3 players for personal listening. Downloads of the SU material are free.

“We are excited to be one of the first national conferences to enter the world of podcasting,” said Shelley Wetzel, conference coordinator and Webmaster at SU. “It’s great that we can offer the advice of these experts even after the conference has ended.”

The conference presentation “The Future of Teaching and Learning Technologies” by Howard Strauss of Princeton University is available on iTunes (www.itunes.com).

Downloads on the Thomson Peterson’s site (www.petersons.com/services/podcasts) include “The Rise and Fall of Marketing on College Campuses” presented by Ed Ziegler of Rowan University, “Using Student Blogs as Admissions Tools” by Rob Pongsajapan of Marymount University and “The Future of New Media Technologies” by William Shewbridge of the University of Maryland Baltimore County, as well as the Strauss presentation.

The conference brought some 140 higher education professionals from across the country and internationally to learn how they could benefit from technology. Participants included Tufts and Duke universities and the U.S. Naval Academy, among others. Globally, the conference included presenter Shane Colvin of the University of Oslo, Norway, and two professionals attending from Lebanon.
