SU's Best Buddies Named Most Outstanding College Chapter

SALISBURY, MD---For dozens of Salisbury residents with cognitive disabilities, Salisbury University students serve as everything from best friends to mentors through the Best Buddies program.

The SU branch of the community organization recently earned the Most Outstanding College Chapter Award. SU’s Buddy director from Lower Shore Enterprises, Cassie West, also won the Outstanding Buddy Director of the Year Award.

Senior philosophy major Daphni McRann is president of Best Buddies at SU. Dr. Rebecca Emery of the Career Services Center is the advisor. The club hosts many group activities for Best Buddies participants throughout the year, including game day, bowling and baseball games.
