Salisbury, University Chorales Perform Sunday, April 14
SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury Chorale and Salisbury University Chorale present a combined concert 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at Wicomico Presbyterian Church, 129 Broad St.
Conducted by Dr. William Folger, Department of Music chair, the chorales sing Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzer, Op. 52, with four-handed piano accompaniment by rehearsal pianist Susan Zimmer and Dr. Linda Cockey, both of SU’s Department of Music. The ensemble also performs Haydn’s Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis De Deo, Hob. XXII 7 (also known as Kleine Orgelmesse or Little Organ Mass), featuring a string quartet and Zimmer on organ.
The University Chorale sings the opening “Chorus of the Villagers” from the Smetana opera The Bartered Bride. Together, the groups are comprised of some 80 members, including community members, students, faculty and SU alumni.
