Salisbury Youth Orchestra Performs Spring Concert
SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury Youth Orchestra hosts its annual spring concert 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in Holloway Hall Auditorium at Salisbury University.
The orchestra performs Bach’s “Fantasy on Sleepers Wake,” Brahms’s “Academic Festival Overture,” “Movie Spectacular” arranged by Jay Bocook, “Little Baroque Suite” arranged by Philip Gordon, “Song Without Words” by Gustav Holst, and “Tower Prince” by A. Louis Scarmolin.
The 45-member Youth Orchestra is conducted Dr. Jeffrey Schoyen, assistant professor of music at SU. It is a full orchestra with strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion, and its members range from fourth-graders to high school seniors from Salisbury and lower Delaware.
