Shipper, Quan Participate in Academy of Management Annual Meeting
Frank Shipper | Jing Quan |
Shipper, of the Management and Marketing Department, was part of the professional workshop panel “Translating the Results of Scholarship into Actions by Practitioners: From Scholarship to Action.” Panelists discussed ways to close the gap between research and practice, as well as strategies for using information technology — including social media — to link researchers and practitioners.
Quan, of the Information and Decision Sciences Department, presented “IT Enabled Organizational Agility and Firm Performance: Evidence from Chinese Firms” with a colleague from Sun Yat-sen University. Their research examined the enabling role of information technology based on the perspectives of resource-picking and capability-building mechanisms of rent creation, and the hierarchy of dynamic capabilities.
