Trio con Brio Copenhagen Performs at SU February 15
SALISBURY, MD---The Peter and Judy Chamber Music Series at Salisbury University presents Trio con Brio Copenhagen 7 p.m. Thursday, February 15, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
The award-winning trio, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, was founded in Vienna in 1999. Three years later, it became a breakthrough chamber music sensation, winning the prestigious German ARD International Music Competition.
The group consists of Danish pianist and Steinway Artist Jens Elvekjaer, and Korean sisters Soo-Jin Hong (violin) and Soo-Kyung Hong (cello). In 2005, the trio became the Ensemble in Residence at Copenhagen’s historic Round Tower.
The Washington Post has lauded the musicians’ concerts at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Library of Congress and other venues, noting that the group “occupies a lofty perch in today’s musical scene.” The Guardian of London has called the trio’s works “sparkling.”
