Two SU African American History Month Events Canceled
SALISBURY, MD---A reading by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Yusef Komunyakaa, originally scheduled at Salisbury University on Thursday, February 15, has been canceled.
In its place, the award-winning documentary Another Brother, offering a snapshot of African American Vietnam War veteran and political activist Clarence Fitch, will be screened at 7 p.m. in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri Student Union. A discussion with Drs. April Logan and Aston Gonzalez, co-chairs of SU’s African American History Month Committee, follows.
Also canceled is SU’s annual Multicultural Leadership Summit, originally slated for Saturday, March 3. The reading and the summit had been scheduled as part of SU’s annual African American History Month celebration.
