USM Foundation Announces Second Annual Art and Design Contest
SALISBURY, MD---The University System of Maryland Foundation (USMF) is sponsoring its second annual art and design contest to highlight creativity and innovation within system campuses.
Submissions are accepted through 11:59 p.m. Friday, September 27. All faculty, staff and students age 18 and over who work or study at USM institutions are eligible to participate.
Works should be based on interpretation of a quote by late Apple CEO Steve Jobs: “I want to put a ding in the universe.”
Judging criteria include clarity of communicating the quote visually; artistic merit and creative expression; and representation of USMF’s vision, mission and values. Winners are expected to be named Friday, October 4.
First prize is $599, and the art will be featured on the cover of USMF’s 2013 annual report. Runners-up earn $350 and $250, and will be spotlighted inside the report.
Submissions should be sent digitally (jpeg format, 300 dpi or higher) to usmf-art@usmd.edu.
