Wagner Receives Graduate Student Award From UD

SALISBURY, MD---Diana Wagner, advising services coordinator in Salisbury University’s Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies, has been honored for her work in the University of Delaware’s Doctor of Education program.

A resident of Blades, DE, Wagner is one of two UD graduate students receiving this year’s College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy (CHEP) Panel of Outstanding Doctoral Students Award.

About 100 UD graduate students were eligible for the CHEP award. The University recognizes two graduate students with the award each year. Wagner is officially recognized during the annual Honors Day Friday, May 9.  

Dr. Robert Hampel, one of Wagner’s professors at UD, nominated her for the award, saluting her work in the program.

“She’s one of the best writers we’ve had in many years,” he said. “Her writing is just a cut above.”

Wagner is pursing a doctorate with a concentration in administration and policy. She said she became interested in the field after starting work in the Seidel School in 1999. Her interests include equality and access issues for students at the grade school and university levels.
