Windsor Earns 2005 ALAM Community Service Award

SALISBURY, MD---Rhonda Windsor, adjunct faculty member at Salisbury University in the Respiratory Therapy Department and certified asthma educator, received the 2005 Community Service Award, Eastern Shore area, for her work in the fight against asthma from the American Lung Association of Maryland (ALAM).

The award was announced at the ALAM Annual Donor Recognition and Service Award Reception on Thursday, October 6 at Turf Valley Resort and Conference Center in Elliott City, MD.

Windsor also is a respiratory therapist at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, a member of the Eastern Shore Asthma Coalition and the Asthma Friendly Schools Initiative Committee. She is the coordinator for the medical center's Asthma Camp, the Asthma overnight program, and Family Night for Asthma.

The Community Service Awards are presented to individuals or organizations that have made contributions in raising the awareness of the American Lung Association of Maryland (ALAM) or providing ALAM a service it was unable to provide in the fight against lung disease.

"Rhonda is a wonderful advocate for lung health," said Jim Phillips, regional director of the ALAM's Eastern Shore office in Salisbury.  "Her work with children has helped make a difference for many families in this region."
