Office Location

The Parking Services Office is located in the University Police/East Campus Complex (map).

Parking Permits

All vehicles parking on Salisbury University property, for any amount of time, must have a registered parking permit with Parking Services.

Students are allowed to register only one vehicle on a permit. If it is found that there is more than one vehicle on a permit, the extra vehicle(s) will be removed.

Motorcycles and vehicles must be registered on separate permits. Motorcycle permits are sold in person at the Parking Services Office after payment has been processed at the Cashiers Office .

Electric vehicle/hybrid eco permits are sold in person at the Parking Services Office.

Students cannot share a permit for separate vehicles.

Student permits are available online only (except electric vehicle/hybrid eco permits). Student permits for the next academic year (September-August) are available in late May in a staggered format based on class standing. See the Student Parking Permits page for more information.

If a particular student permit type has been sold out, it will be noted on the screen during the purchase process, and students will be prompted to select a different option.

Employee permits are available online only. Academic year (September-August) employee permits are available beginning in early August.

When adding vehicle license plate information, do not include spaces, dashes, or symbols. Examples and sample plates

The purchaser is responsible for the accuracy of the license plate information at the time the parking permit is obtained.

Where Can I Park With My Permit?

A parking registration gives you permission to park in your assigned lot but does not guarantee a parking spot. Permits are valid for the entire academic year. Permits are not pro-rated if purchased after the academic year has started.

- Any SU parking lot (except Asbury, Maggs, and metered spaces) from 4:45 p.m.-7:45 a.m. Monday-Friday and 24 hours Saturday-Sunday unless restrictions are posted
Motorcycle Permit (Students & Employees): $120, or $5 per year with the purchase of a regular student or employee permit
- Any student parking space at the times and conditions noted above (if permit holder is a student) or any campus parking space (if permit holder is an employee).
- Note that there is no SU parking in the Asbury Parking Lot from 5:30 p.m.-6:45 a.m. or on weekends. Maggs Physical Activities Center parking is from 4:45 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
- Motorcycle permits are not valid for metered or reserved spaces.
Electric Vehicle/Hybrid Eco Permit (Students & Employees): $95 per year
- Any space with an electric vehicle charging station.

- University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Wor-Wic Community College employees with valid parking permits from those institutions may also park in spaces permitted by SU Employee permits.

Evening Permit (Students & Employees): $45 per year
- Any SU parking lot (except metered spaces) at any time unless restrictions are posted. (Note that there is no SU parking in the Asbury parking lot from 5:30 p.m.-6:45 a.m. or on weekends. Evening parking in the Maggs Physical Acvities Center lot ends at 6:30 a.m.)
- Note: This pro-rated permit is for those who need evening-only parking. Regular student and employee permits are valid during the evening.
Summer Permit (Students & Employees): $30 per year
- Any SU parking lot (except metered spaces) at any time unless restrictions are posted. (Note that there is no SU parking in the Asbury parking lot from 5:30 p.m.-6:45 a.m. or on weekends. Maggs Physical Acvities Center parking is from 4:45 p.m.-6:30 a.m.)
- Note: This pro-rated permit is for those who need summer-only parking. Regular student and employee permits are valid during the summer.
Salisbury Circle Permit
Visitor Parking Pass

Any SU parking lot (except metered spaces) during the times listed on their permit unless restrictions are posted. (Note that there is no SU parking in the Asbury parking lot from 5:30 p.m.-6:45 a.m. or on weekends.)

A limited number of designated campus visitor spaces are located in front of Holloway Hall.

A limited number of designated visitor spaces for the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons, including the Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture, are located in U.S. 13 Parking Lot B.

Please note that Visitor Passes must be printed and visible in the vehicle’s windshield, and are valid only during the time(s) and date(s) listed on them.

License Plate Recognition

Salisbury University uses license plate recognition to ensure vehicles are authorized to park on campus. Mounted cameras scan license plates, and citations are issued to vehicles without valid University permits or to those not parked in the proper parking lots.

Parking is “plates out.” License plates must face the driving lane. Because of this, vehicles with only one license plate should not back into or “pull through” parking spots.
License plates must be affixed to the vehicle to be displayed properly for scanning and in accordance with Maryland law. Vehicles with plates lying on the dashboard or not affixed to the correct spot on the vehicle will be cited.
Citations issued due to inaccurate plate information or the inability to scan are the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
Refunds for permits and waiving of citations will not be issued for plates entered inaccurately at the time the permit is purchased.

General Parking Information

All vehicles on campus (day or evening) must be registered with Parking Services via a permit or Visitor Parking Pass.

All visitors must register for a Visitor Parking Pass. Passes may be obtained free of charge through the SU Parking Permit System.

Handicap spaces are designated in each parking lot and are specifically reserved for vehicles with handicap license plates/placards. These spaces also require authorized SU parking permits or a Visitor Parking Pass. Handicap spaces are marked on SU’s campus access ADA map

SU does not distribute handicap parking placards. With adequate information from a qualified provider, Parking Services is able to provide a 30-day temporary until the driver can obtain a permanent handicap parking placard from the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.

Unauthorized parking is not allowed in spaces reserved for individuals or service vehicles. Signs will be posted at these reserved spaces.

Parking Accommodations

Students may request on-campus parking accommodations through the Office of Access & Accommodations (OAA).

Through an interactive process, OAA staff meet with each student individually to discuss their parking request and the likely impact of their disability on their educational experiences at SU.
Parking Services may issue temporary parking privileges without documentation from OAA to students and employees with obvious disabilities (i.e., casts, crutches, or other mobility aids).
Parking Services reserves the right to refer students to the OAA if additional information is necessary to determine reasonable accommodations.

How Can I Appeal My Citation?

Citations may be appealed through the Parking Services Portal within 10 days of issuance. The portal is also available via GullNet. Once on the new webpage:

Click on “Login” at the top right corner of the site and choose “Salisbury Login.” Log in with your SU login information.
Move to the “Citations” section. Enter the citation number and follow the prompts.

Should a citation not be administratively voided as may be requested above, and should the parking citation recipient wish to contest it under any other circumstance, all appeals will be heard in the District Court of Maryland. For more information, visit Requesting Tickets to Be Voided.
