SU Noyce Internships

SU freshmen and sophomores majoring in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Mathematics, and Physics can complete paid STEM education internships. SU expects to have funds to support 4-8 interns per year through spring 2023. Interns will engage in lesson study in Wicomico County schools. They will be responsible for collaborating with peers and local teachers to design, implement, and analyze STEM lessons for middle or high school students.

The time commitment for the internship is approximately 30 hours per semester. Interns need to participate in team meetings, do some independent research, attend lessons, and work with secondary school students. A fingerprint background check is required. Interns must be US citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens. Total pay for the year is $1500.

Successful completion of the internship experience increases the chances of receiving an SU Noyce Scholarship. The internship also provides an opportunity to learn more about STEM teaching without necessarily having to commit to it.
