"SU @ NCUR" 2023

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities sponsors a Travel Grant Award Program which enables outstanding SU undergraduate students to present their research, creative or scholarly projects at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). Each year, Undergraduate students from colleges and universities across the US and representing all academic disciplines, gather to present their research, creative or scholarly projects. NCUR creates a unique environment to celebrate and promote exemplary student achievement which serves to advance and enrich undergraduate education.

The 37th annual NCUR event was hosted at the University of Wisconsin, Eau-Claire, from April 12-15. Salisbury University was represented by ten students who presented their work:

• Kieran Bethke presented “Papal Power vs. Secular Power: Renewed Interest in the Rule of Law in the Long Twelfth Century”
• Dominick Lepke presented “Tactics to Prevent the Use of Blockchain Technology as a Facilitator for Laundering Money”
• Francis Lopez Chilel presented “Terrestrial friction-reducing properties of mucus and scale anisotropy in northern snakehead (Channa argus)”
• River Myer presented “The 1980s and the Cold War: Understanding the Climax of the Cold War Through the Lens of Historical Narratives”
• Carly Nascimbeni presented “Do Prisoners Need Ethics or Does Ethics Need Prisoners?: Ethics Education in Prison Combats Epistemic Injustice”
• Jordan Parker presented “Ridiculously Simple Idea”
• Zobia Rani and Ann Thomas presented “Finding Better Solutions for Available MRI Contrast Agents - Fe(II) Complexes Exhibitng Temperature Dependent Spin Transition”
• Jarret Walton presented “Policies at the Tudor Court: The Change and Development in policy under Henry VII and Henry VIII from 1500-1540”
