Water Bottle Filling Stations

In an effort to reduce the number of plastic bottles going to landfills, Salisbury University has installed water bottle filling stations in most campus buildings.

Reusable Water Bottles: The Sustainable Choice

Complimentary water stations throughout campus filter tap water and allow hands-free filling of reusable water bottles. Digital readouts indicate the number or disposable bottles avoided so far. SU partners with Elkay to ensure the stations are providing safe water while encouraging sustainable practices to our campus.

The Beverage Industry Environmental Roundtable estimates that one 500-milliliter plastic bottle of water has a total carbon footprint equivalent to 82.8 grams of carbon dioxide. Additionally, it takes 3 liters of water to produce one liter of bottled water.
