Where to Report

Child abuse and neglect are to be reported to the Local Department of Social Services for the jurisdiction in which the child resides or the abuse or neglect occurred.

  • If on campus, the University Police should be contacted at 410 543-6222 and the Wicomico County Department of Social Services is in the University’s jurisdiction and may be contacted at 410-713-3900 (select option 1).
  • If elsewhere in the state of Maryland, contact the relevant county Department of Social Services which can be found at http://dhr.maryland.gov/child-protective-services/reporting-suspected-child-abuse-or-neglect/local-offices/.
  • If out of state, contact the Wicomico County Department of Social Services at 410-713-3900 (select option 1).
  • If neither location is known, contact Wicomico County Department of Social Services at 410-713-3900 (select option 1).
