Resident Director Reflections

Anthony Dina

Anthony DinaMy desire for Residence Life originated at Goldey-Beacom College when I was selected to be a Resident Assistant at the end of my freshman year. The preceding 3 years of work within that department gave me various opportunities to develop skills and establish professional connections. My love for assisting students transitioning into college life started when I was promoted to Senior Resident Assistant at GBC. My amazing mentor continuously steered me in the right direction, ultimately to attend the Mid-Atlantic Placement Conference (MAPC). I interviewed with Salisbury University and am in my second year! My professional prowess expanded when I made the decision to be in the Higher Education Leadership track for graduate school. This program, along with the Resident Director job have been integral in my professional growth. These experiences are continually allowing me to grow as a person, student, and professional. I am grateful that I can always look back at Salisbury University as the place where my professional journey began!

Shelly Zaid-Kunz

Shelly Zaid-KunzMy passion for student support flourished during my tenure as a Resident Assistant at Muhlenberg College. Initially assuming this role as a sophomore, I could not have foreseen the subsequent trajectory that led me to embrace the responsibilities of a Resident Director and enroll in a master's program in Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution at Salisbury University. As a Resident Director, I am consistently afforded the opportunity to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds, thereby amplifying my capacity for empathy, personal growth, and professional development. With unwavering support from my supervisors, colleagues, and the wider professional community on campus, I am continually honing my leadership skills. If your aspiration is to cultivate your knowledge and capabilities, Salisbury University stands as the ideal institution for your educational journey.

Domanique Farrace

Domanique FarraceAs a graduate of Salisbury University, I was super excited to return as a Resident Director and a graduate student in the Higher Education Curriculum & Instruction Leadership program! In my time as a Resident Director, I have been able to apply what I have learned during my time in the Higher Education program to many different aspects of the position, as well as relate my experiences as a Resident Director to the material discussed in class. This is a position where I have been able to continue to grow professionally and have had the opportunity to experience a multitude of different facets of working in Residence Life. What’s most important to me is how friendly and welcoming everyone is at SU. They are just as invested in my success and growth as I am, which has made my experience here absolutely incredible. If this sounds like what you’re looking for in a position, Salisbury is the place for you!

Tia Epps

Tia EppsMy passion for helping students in Housing & Residence life started at Kean University where I earned my bachelor's Degree in psychology. I was a Resident Assistant, Community Assistant & a Summer Assistant during my time there. I wanted to purse my passion for Housing & Residence life so I decided to become a Resident Director at SU. My time here has been great! I enjoy the flexibility of the position; I can still have a connection to students while continuing to supervise my staff. The environment is like no other, as I experience a friendly and family environment. It’s amazing to grow as a professional and as a student here at SU!
