Teaching Philosophy
Tabor feels that the most important element of the teacher-student dynamic is that everyone is a human being who brings something valuable to the table. Openness, authenticity, and the joy of "doing" music are first and foremost in his mind. Tabor has become an expert at boiling down complex concepts into a big-picture view that students can understand. Details are then categorized into concepts that relate directly to the big picture so that memorization and application are as practical as possible.

Owner and President, Neuma Records & Publications:
In 2013, Tabor took the helm of the respected independent contemporary music label, Neuma Records. As an advocate of living composers and contemporary music, in general, he expanded Neuma to include a contemporary music publishing house. Neuma focuses on important music by both men and woman that Tabor believes have or will have a profound impact on the field from an historical perspective. Neuma is also now the only company in the world that publishes electroacoustic music as independent works of art on par with acoustic compositional scores.- External Collaboration Highlights
Believing strongly that women composers are significantly underrepresented in the field, Tabor forged a partnership between Neuma and the “I Resound Press” archive of women composers, curated by Dr. Linda Dusman at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Some of the important women composers Tabor publishes are Annea Lockwood, Eleanor Hovda, Ruth Lomon, Linda Dusman, and Anna Rubin.
