'An Evening of Percussion' at SU April 15
SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury University Percussion Ensemble presents “An Evening of Percussion” 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 15, in a virtual format.
Directed by Eric Shuster, the concert features guest artist Ian Fry and a new composition by Daniel Bowen.
The performance includes traditional candomblé music from Brazil arranged by Fry and Bruno Vinezof; conga Carnaval music from Santiago de Cuba arranged by Luis Conte and Fry, featuring Pedro Eustache on the horn; and “Trio for Ogun” by N. Scott Robinson.
The concert also features mallet ensemble pieces “Preludes, Opus 103, No. 7” by Gabriel Fauré, arranged by Shuster for marimba soloist and trio, and “Perfectly Voiceless” by Devonté Hynes.
