Cellist Petrosyan Joins SSO for Spring Concert
SALISBURY, MD---Guest cellist Suren Petrosyan joins the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra at Salisbury University (SSO) for its annual spring concert, “Rhapsody in Bloom,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.
A masterclass with Petrosyan is 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, in Fulton Hall Room 130.
Petrosyan joins the SSO in concert to perform Khachaturian’s Concerto-Rhapsody for Cello and Orchestra. He holds degrees in orchestral conducting and cello performance from Michigan State University and the Yerevan State Conservatory.
Originally from Armenia, he began music lessons at age 5 and has dedicated his life to music as an active cello performer, teacher and conductor. Petrosyan has conducted concerts with symphony and chamber orchestras in Armenia, Europe, the U.S. and Canada.
Tickets are $25, $20 for senior citizens and $5 for students, available from SU’s online box office.
