Miller-Porfiris Duo Joins SSO for Winter Concert

SALISBURY, MD---The Miller-Porfiris Duo joins the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra for the concert “Winter Radiance” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 9, in the Jackson Family Auditorium of Holloway Hall.
Violinist Anton Miller and violist Rita Porfiris have gifted international audiences with their “expressive flair” since 2005. The duo has performed in the U.S., Europe and Asia, making appearances with the Chamber Music of Little Rock, Chamber Music Pittsburgh, Tel Aviv Museum and Sheldon Friends of Music series, among others.
Recently, the duo released its third CD, Divertimenti, which Fanfare declared “a lightning bolt.”
Along with selections featuring Miller and Porfiris, the SSO’s December concert will continue holiday traditions, including the orchestra’s annual performance of Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.”
Tickets are $25, $20 for seniors, $10 for SU faculty and staff and $5 for students, available from SU’s online box office at www.salisbury.edu/performingarts. The concert also can be streamed online for $10.
