SU Theatre Presents 'The Maids' May 4-7
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Bobbi Biron Theatre Program presents Jean Genet’s The Maids Thursday-Sunday, May 4-7.
Directed by Blake Harris, curtain is 7:30 p.m., 2 p.m. Sunday.
The performance tells the story of two sisters, Claire and Solange, who are trapped in a dismal job as servants to a high-strung madame. To pass the time and escape their oppressive reality, they create a twisted fantasy by roleplaying as their domineering employer and each other. Falling deeper into their sinister rituals, they struggle to separate fantasy and reality.
Absurd and edgy, The Maids, explores the intersections between performance and class, pain and escape.
Tickets are $15, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students, SU faculty and staff. Tickets are available through SU’s online box office.
Patrons are asked to park in Camden Lot F (Blackwell Hall).
