By SU Public Relations

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University has risen in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 “Best Colleges” rankings, once again placing among the nation’s top institutions.

In the northern region, SU climbed to 45th overall in the “Best Regional Universities” category — up from last year’s ranking — and placed 18th among the region’s “Top Public Schools.” The category includes nearly 600 institutions nationwide, split among four geographic areas: North, South, Midwest, and West.

SU also again was recognized as one of the “Top Performers on Social Mobility” and “Best Colleges for Veterans,” and for having one of the “Best Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programs.”

“Each time Salisbury University rises in the national rankings, it reinforces the good work happening across our campus,” said SU President Carolyn Ringer Lepre. “These recognitions affirm what we see every day — that our students are receiving the knowledge, support, and experiences they need to thrive both here and beyond graduation.

“For more than a century, Salisbury has prepared leaders in every field, and we are proud that our continued focus on high-impact practices and student success is being reflected in this upward momentum. We are honored that U.S. News once again has recognized SU’s dedication to excellence.”

Other publications also have taken note of what SU has to offer. In recent months, SU was named among The Best 391 Colleges for the 27th consecutive year by The Princeton Review, one of “America’s Top Colleges” by Forbes and one of “The Best Colleges in America” by Money.

Washington Monthly also again has named SU among the nation’s top master’s-level and “Best Bang for the Buck” institutions.
