Poet Powell Continues 'Writers-on-the-Shore' Series Tuesday, October 25
SALISBURY, MD---Poet Elizabeth Powell continues Salisbury University’s fall Writers-on-the-Shore series 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 25.
She reads from her works in the Montgomery Room of the Commons.
Powell has published dozens of poems in magazines and anthologies. She is the author of the poetry collection The Republic of Self, which won the New Issues First Book Prize for Poetry. Award-winning poet David Rivard says there is “nothing quite like her in American poetry.”
She has received grants from the Vermont Council on the Arts, as well as a residency from Yaddo. Her poems have appeared in The Atlanta Review, Harvard Review, Sonora Review and Poet Lore, among others. Her short fiction has appeared in The Black Warrior Review. She is also the poetry editor of Green Mountains Review.
