Science Nights @ SU Continue Tuesday, February 5

SALISBURY, MD---Interested in mathematics or the sciences?  Salisbury University again offers its free Science Nights @ SU program for high school students.

During sessions, experts explore various math- and science-related fields, discussing career options, current research and more. All fall Science Night presentations are 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday nights in Devilbiss Hall Room 123.

The four-part series begins October 9, with a session on Chemistry. 

Other upcoming topics include:
• Physics and Engineering on November 13;
• Earth and Atmospheric Science on December 4; and
• Math and Computer Science on February 5. 

“We are excited about this year,” said Dr. Brent Zaprowski, program director and faculty in SU’s Geography and Geosciences Department.  “We had a quite successful turnout last year of students from all over the Eastern Shore.  Many attended all four nights.”  In addition to exploring careers, Zaprowski added that students will learn what it is like to be an undergraduate science major at SU, tour the Henson facilities and participate in interesting hands-on activities.

The sessions are open to all high school students from the local region and beyond, especially those considering careers in the growing fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
