SoHo Gallery Associate Director Karp Speaks at SU Saturday, September 8
SALISBURY, MD---Ethan Karp grew up in the middle of New York’s SoHo arts district — or rather, it grew up around him.
His father, Ivan, founded one of SoHo’s first galleries, OK Harris Works of Art, in 1969. Today the associate director of the OK Harris Gallery, Karp speaks about his decades in the art world 7 p.m. Saturday, September 8, in Room 111 of Salisbury University’s Fulton Hall.
OK Harris was at the forefront of the photo realist movement, drawing many artists and collectors to SoHo. Throughout the years, the gallery has developed a wide-ranging exhibition program, based on the Karps’ commitment to seeking out new artists.
Sponsored by SU Art Department and Art Institute and Gallery, admission to Karp’s talk is free, and the public is invited. For more information call 410-548-2547 or visit the University Galleries Web site at www.salisbury.edu/universitygalleries.
