Exchange Visitor Program
Overview
The J-1 Exchange Visitor Program is managed by the US Department of State. Since 1961 it has promoted mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries through educational and cultural exchanges. Institutions throughout the country are designated by the US Department of State to sponsor J-1 Exchange Visitors. Sponsor institutions and exchange visitors are required to comply with the Exchange Visitor Program regulations as set forth by the US Department of State. Salisbury University has been designated as a J-1 Exchange Visitor sponsoring institution by the US Department of State since 2009 in the categories of Student, Short-Term Scholar, and Professor.
