Family Study Room Policies

  • You must have an SU email address to reserve the room.  Only current Salisbury University students, faculty, and staff may use the room along with the children/vulnerable adults for whom they are providing care.
  • Up to two families may use the room at one time.
  • The room may be reserved a maximum of four hours per day. Reservations may be made up to two weeks in advance, with no minimum advance notice required.
  • Accessible hours:

    • F-8 am-5:30 pm

    • Sun 12-11:30 pm
  • Parents/guardians with a reservation must come to the Library Service Desk to borrow a specially programmed card that will give them access to the room during the reservation.
  • The reservation confirmation and a valid SU Gull Card must be presented to enter the room. (Distance students without a Gull Card must provide their student ID number and a valid photo ID.)
  • Children/vulnerable adults must be present before the room is opened, and they must remain in the room while it is in use.
  • Parents, guardians, and caregivers should not bring a child or vulnerable adult who is sick.
  • Parents, guardians, and caregivers are solely responsible for the children's/vulnerable adult’s safety and behavior.
  • Children and vulnerable adults may not be left unattended in the Family Study Room. In adherence with the SU Libraries Code of Conduct, vulnerable adults and minors under the age of 15 years must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a responsible adult. Library staff may attempt to contact a parent or guardian for any minor, as defined herein, left without adult supervision. University Police may be notified as appropriate.
  • Parents, guardians, and caretakers should be aware that the SU Libraries are open to the public. The SU Libraries provide access to content that may be inappropriate for minors, and there are no filters on computers. Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring internet and media access.
  • The room is locked, so parents, guardians, and caregivers should keep the access card with them when leaving the room.
  • Parents, guardians, and caregivers should take all belongings (including items in the refrigerator) with them when leaving. The refrigerator will be emptied each night, and all items will be disposed of.
