College Readiness Academy

The College Readiness Academy prepares high school students for college-level work in the humanities. Learners exercise academic skills such as critical thinking and writing, textual interpretation, and discussion within a community of inquiry.

Creative Writing For Teens

  • Dates: Monday, July 21 - Friday, July 25, 2025
  • Grades: Grades 8-12
  • Times: Half Day - 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Location: Salisbury University Campus

This academy will encourage students to use their imagination and self-expression to develop their writing skills. While having fun developing interesting stories, the students will also be able to improve their language, grammar and creative thinking while learning about different forms of writing. The students will be able to share their thoughts and opinions with their peers.

College And Career Readiness Bootcamp Academy

  • Dates: Monday, July 28 - Friday, August 1, 2025
  • Grades: 9-12
  • Times: Full Day 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Location: Salisbury University Campus
  • Lunch: Lunch Provided
  • Cost: $150
  • Capacity: 16 Spots

This academy provides enrichment activities designed to prepare high school students with the skills they need to smoothly transition to college or the workplace after they graduate from high school. The students will develop skills in choosing a career path, goal setting, time management, study skills, public speaking, test taking, critical thinking, problem-solving and more. The students will meet with representatives from college departments such as admissions, financial aid and housing. They will create vision boards which they will share with their families on the last day of the academy.

Social Engagement Skills Academy (Elementary)

  • Dates: Monday, July 28 - Friday, August 1, 2025
  • Grades: Elementary
  • Times: Half Day - 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Location: Salisbury University Campus
  • Lunch: Lunch Provided
  • Cost: $300
  • Capacity: 16 Spots

This academy will help students learn to interact effectively with others using skills such as active listening, verbal and non-verbal communication, conflict resolution, empathy, and respect. These skills will help the students be successful in school and life. The students will also practice giving instructions, following directions and constructive criticism. The students will also learn social etiquette skills such as making eye contact, manners, respecting others and their personal space, table manners and other skills that ensure successful daily interactions with others.

  • Times: Half Day - 1-4 p.m.
  • Location: Salisbury University Campus
