Dr. Amy Johnson

Vice President of Student Affairs

Dr. Amy Johnson was named Vice President of Student Affairs at Salisbury University effective June 2026.

She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, earning her Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Student Development in 2004 and M.S. in Education in 1998. She also holds a B.A. in English and Communication from the University of Puget Sound.

Prior to joining SU, she served as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She also has held leadership roles at Eastern Washington University, University of Southern California, and University of Pennsylvania, with some 30 years of experience as a student development practitioner and faculty member in education.

Beyond the University, Amy is a member of the Association for the Study of Higher Education and the student affairs association NASPA, as well as a Special Olympics volunteer. She also has been a booster/volunteer for Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.

A native of Los Angeles, she recently moved to the Eastern Shore with her husband and college-aged son.
