Lilian completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Morgan State University in 2002 and earned her Masters and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, MI in 2007. Lilian’s career has involved competency in leadership training, multicultural issues, and working with international populations on seeking mental health services. Her interests include multicultural training and service provision, leadership development, training on dynamics of privilege, outreach programming for immigrants and ethnic/racial minority populations, and international issues in mental health. Lilian is a Licensed Psychologist.

Nikki earned a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from the College of William and Mary and a Master’s of Social Work Degree from SU.  She completed her clinical internships in the Center and at a community-based mobile crisis agency.  Nikki previously worked in multiple areas of Student Affairs including SU’s Office of Student Disability Support Services.  Her clinical interests include hopefulness, belongingness, self-esteem, and issues related to alcohol and other drug use.  In her clinical work, Nikki strives to foster empowerment in clients while integrating cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, person-centered, mindfulness, and compassion-focused strategies.  Nikki coordinates the center’s group therapy program.

Dawn completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at then Salisbury State University in 1996 and earned her master in Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1998. She previously worked for the Worcester County Health Department as well as the Crisis Response team. Dawn is the center’s Training Coordinator and provides clinical supervision and training for graduate interns. She is registered with the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners to provide clinical supervision to staff for advanced licensure. Dawn is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), and is a Certified Threat Manager (CTM).

Sabrina earned her undergraduate degree in Educational Psychology in 2002 from the University of Asmara in Eritrea, East Africa. She later completed two graduate degree programs from Ohio University, including the Master of Arts in International Affairs (MAIA), and the Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2009. Sabrina previously worked at refugee resettlement agencies that served diverse populations in Columbus, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia. Her areas of interest include working with international students, immigration, resilience, cross-cultural studies, and culture-specific issues in mental health. Sabrina coordinates the center’s diversity programs.

Cassidy earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Millersville University in 2009, and her graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling from Shippensburg University in 2014. She has experience working in an outpatient setting providing mental health and drug and alcohol counseling to clients of all ages. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and utilizes an eclectic approach to counseling, with focuses on Person-Centered, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Relational Therapy. Her clinical interest are in anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA, impacts from family relational issues, and improving self-awareness and acceptance. Cassidy also coordinates the center’s assessment efforts, manages the website, completes data analysis, and oversees quality assurance.

Meg earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from then Salisbury State College, a Master’s in Education from Salisbury State University and a Master’s in Social Work from Salisbury University. She has extensive experience working in clinical settings with young adults and children at the Wicomico County Health Department and the Life Crisis Center. Meg has administrative and supervisory experience working with different populations of people dealing with mental health difficulties.

Danesha attended Salisbury University where she received her Master’s in Social Work. She has over 6 years of experience working in the mental health field providing individual and group therapy, with a focus working with individuals from disenfranchised backgrounds. A Washington, DC native, her areas of interests include researching the juvenile justice system, systematic discrimination and racism, and LGBTQIA . Danesha recently received the J. William Fulbright Scholarship to teach in the Netherlands. Danesha is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).

Tasha earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Wesley College, Master of Arts at Salisbury University and earned additional licensure coursework attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. Tasha is a holistic therapist as well as a cognitive behavioral therapist who also utilizes psychodynamic approaches in her work. She acknowledges the whole person (mind-body-spirit) while supporting clients through the counseling process and in cases of trauma history, works to minimize re-triggering using guided imagery and EFT. Tasha has worked in various offices at Salisbury University including Housing and Residence Life and Multicultural Student Services; she is a long-term supporter of social action, racial justice and equity.

Graduate Interns

Tamara Gibbons, BS
MHC Intern
Tamara Gibbons earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Salisbury University. She is currently a graduate student at Wilmington University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Tamara utilizes a person-centered approach to counseling, as well as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Stacey Shumaker, BS
MSW Intern
Stacey earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2018 and is currently enrolled in the graduate program at Salisbury University to achieve Master in Social Work. She has been a certified peer mentor through the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation since 2015. She has also gained experience at the Kennedy Krieger Institute since 2007 focusing her work on individuals with spinal cord injuries, which is her main area of interest, along with depression, anxiety, and disability and LGBTQIA issues.

Olisa Umeka, BS
MSW Intern
Olisa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Anthropology from Ebonyi State University in Nigeria, West Africa. Currently he is in pursuit of a Master's in Social Work degree from Salisbury University. Olisa is currently an Active Duty Service Member with the United States Army with over five years of experience. Prior work experience includes marketing executive, verification officer in Nigeria and certified nursing assistant in New York. His areas of interest include working with veterans, college students, vulnerable population, mental health and the military community.

Kelson Weber, BS
MSW Intern
Kelson earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and minor in Psychology from Salisbury University and is currently working toward a Master's degree in Social Work from Salisbury University. He has experience working in school settings and with children in foster care through AACASA. Kelson also played and helped coach the Men's Tennis Team while pursuing his undergraduate degree.
